Privacy policy

Last updated 25 September 2026

The short version. Grim Island is a single-player game that works offline. It has no accounts, analytics or telemetry and never sends anything over the network. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or trackers. The only personal data we handle is what you choose to send us by email.

Who we are

Grim Island is made by Spectral Crow, a business registered in Ireland. Spectral Crow is the data controller for the data described here. You can reach us about privacy at contact (at) grimisland (dot) com. Full company details are on the legal notice.

The game

The game does not collect, store or send any personal data. It has no network code, so nothing leaves your computer. Your save file and a technical log file stay on your own machine, in the folder listed on the support page. We never see them unless you attach them to an email.

Steam

You buy and play Grim Island through Steam, which is run by Valve Corporation. Your purchase, Steam account, playtime, reviews and any Steam features (such as achievements) are handled by Valve under its own privacy policy. Valve gives us aggregated sales and usage reports that do not identify you. We do not receive your name, email address or payment details from Steam.

This website

grimisland.com is a static website. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics, shows no ads and loads nothing from third parties: fonts and images are served from this domain. There are no forms and no embedded videos or social media widgets.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data from each visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this data to identify or profile visitors. Cloudflare acts as our processor; see Cloudflare’s privacy policy. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

When you email us

If you write to support or contact, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach, such as a log file, save file or screenshot. We use this only to reply and to fix the problem you reported. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you and supporting the game (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Email to grimisland.com is received by Cloudflare Email Routing and forwarded to our mailbox provider, which stores it for us. We keep support conversations for as long as they are useful for fixing the issue, and delete them within 24 months of the last message. You can ask us to delete yours sooner at any time.

We never sell your data, use it for marketing, or share it with anyone except the service providers named here.

Transfers outside the EU

Cloudflare and our email provider may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or restrict how we use it. You can also object to our use of it and ask for it in a portable format. Write to contact (at) grimisland (dot) com and we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission or the data protection authority where you live.

Children

We do not knowingly collect data from children. The game collects nothing from anyone. If a child has emailed us and a parent wants the message deleted, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

If the game or this site changes how it handles data, for example by adding a feature that goes online, we will update this page first and change the date at the top.
